Človek v ohrození Slovakia has a new English name

After a significant increase in the capacity of Človek v ohrození Slovakia, we are altering our affiliation with Člověk v tísni Czech Republic and continuing our operations under a separate brand. The Slovak name remains unchanged, but internationally, we will represent it under the name People in Peril.

Starting from the beginning of 2024, we will function under a separate brand, necessitating various internal and external processes. Following the rebranding with the new logo, unveiled at the end of 2023, we are also restructuring our English name. After numerous sessions and consultations with advisors, we have devised a plan aligning our activities with a straightforward narrative. 

As of February 2024, we will adopt the English name People in Peril. This is the original English name of our organization, utilized since 1999. Returning to this name symbolizes a return to the core of our mission. Our focus remains on aiding individuals in need, regardless of their racial, religious, political, or other affiliations. This name embodies the values of humanity and humanism that guide our daily work. 

Over the past two years, since the onset of the war in Ukraine, our team has expanded, necessitating changes to our internal operations and the implementation of systems to enhance our daily efficiency. This progress marks the next stage of our development, and we aspire to be recognized among European humanitarian organizations soon. 

This transition enables us to respond more swiftly and flexibly to sudden disasters while ensuring recognition of our efforts by both aid recipients and donors.
