Czech Republic – floods 2002

In August 2002, we announced a public collection to help people affected by floods in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The SOS POVODNE collection reached the total amount of 2 200 000 CZK. Due to the scale of the disaster, we used most of the proceeds of the collection in the Czech Republic – for the distribution of equipment, disinfectants and for the reconstruction of an elementary school in the village of Běrkovice in the Mělník district. We also helped Czech theatres. In addition to the public fundraising, the Theatres Under Water project included hosting affected Czech theatres in Slovakia.
