Gaza – Humanitarian Disaster 2023

Following the Hamas attack on Israel on 7 October 2023 and the harsh reprisals by Isreal, the situation in the Gaza Strip is so critical that the casualties, both adult and child, number in the thousands. The most important thing now is to provide humanitarian aid to the people who, because of the closed borders, have been trapped in the middle of the fighting without food and without water.

We sent food aid and hygiene supplies to the civilian population. In the fall of 2023, we were involved in the transport of humanitarian aid sent to Gaza by the Slovak Republic. We contributed material aid, namely three pallets of non-perishable food and hygiene products, which flew to Egypt at the end of December. At the same time, we have established cooperation with an Egyptian partner organization in order to deliver additional humanitarian aid to the civilian population in Gaza worth €30,000, and we have allocated the first €20,000 from the humanitarian fund of the Friends Club. We filled one truck, which is about 21 tons, with food aid for people.

Aid is still needed in Gaza, and we are still looking for ways to help civilians.
