Georgia

The devastating conflict with Russia over Abkhazia and South Ossetia has driven more than 225,000 ethnic Georgians from their homes since the 1990s. Since 2009, we have helped their integration into society as full and productive citizens.

We have helped with business plans, written grants to purchase equipment and materials. Although the educated women could not practice their professions, they at least baked or learned to make jewelry. They made at least a little bit of money by selling jewelry.

We conducted 3 business skills trainings for 75 people. We organised 12 practical skills courses (baking, jewellery making, sewing and computer skills) for 240 people. For 60 people we provided advice on business plans. 45 business plans received financial support of EUR 300. We improved housing conditions in 106 houses.
