Iraq
We implemented a project in the Douhuk and Niniwe areas of northern Iraq to return refugee and displaced children to school and meaningful leisure time.
We distributed school supplies and new furniture to five schools in the area. In a school that could no longer handle the number of children, in the village of Tebat Reyah, we completed five new classrooms. But instead of the expected 720 children, many more came on D-Day.
We trained teachers to work with traumatized children, prepared not only classrooms but also leisure activities, and tried to make the children gradually overcome their terrible experiences through our activities. In this way, these children will also have a better chance to improve their surroundings and resist extremist pressures. Together we have helped up to 1452 children.
