Winter in Ukraine
Ukraine is facing one of the worst winters. Due to energy attacks, people are left without electricity for 4 to 18 hours a day. They have no way to warm up. Many families live in collective centers, which also lack sufficient protection from the cold. Let's give them the warmth they desperately need.

Ukraine is facing another winter at a time of war and this year is expected to be the most challenging. Unfortunately, the cold months pose the biggest threat to the most vulnerable. Join the help and gift them the warmth that will help them survive this winter.
People in Ukraine are worried about the approaching winter.
Attacks on energy infrastructure have already destroyed half of the electricity generation capacity. This winter, power outages are expected to last from 4 to 18 hours a day.
As winter approaches, the number of evacuees is now growing rapidly due to adverse developments in areas near the front lines. Every day, evacuation trains run from the eastern parts to the West of Ukraine. They mainly transport the elderly, children and people with disabilities. However, they often cannot find enough help there. Humanitarian organisations operating in Ukraine are mainly focused on the eastern regions.
The West of Ukraine, where people fleeing their homes are still arriving, is not sufficiently covered. Therefore, many people who do not have their future completely in their hands due to their age or health condition return back to more dangerous areas. They are willing to risk receiving basic humanitarian aid at the expense of their own safety.
The most vulnerable families are currently heading to the Ľviv and Zakarpatska regions. However, all collective centers, in which we have completed reconstruction work during the last two years, are almost fully occupied. Even the new centers that could accommodate evacuees are not sufficiently adapted for people with disabilities and are not able to provide sufficient protection from the winter.
Let us not allow this winter to further endanger the already hard-pressed families in Ukraine.
Your donation will help, for example, in the form of:
- thermal underwear for children
- generator
- electric heater
- winter jacket
- warm blankets
- food and hygiene package
We have already prepared the elders in the Sumy region for the winter.
Together with our partner Sumy Public Circle, we helped 14 families prepare for winter in the Sumy region, specifically in Bilopilská hromada.
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, it was the Bilopolska pile on the border between Ukraine and the Russian Federation that was a strong base and did not allow Russian soldiers to reach the city of Sumy. However, after the complete liberation of the Sumy region, the Bilopolska community has become the target of daily air strikes and shelling from rocket artillery systems. This year, its inhabitants are not only facing attacks, but also winter, for which they needed to prepare.
Our help was directed mainly to the elderly who are living alone. Due to their limited movement, we did not distribute regular firewood, but briquettes, which are much easier to handle and do not need to be chopped. We managed to deliver up to 42.5 tons of briquettes, which will be enough for the following cold months.
