Ukraine

After our eastern neighbours were invaded by the Russian Federation, the locals find themselves in acute danger. Bombs are falling on cities, civilian lives are in danger.

Active in all 6 districts and 50 mounds of Zakarpattia region. We are gradually extending our assistance to other western regions, as well as to some southern, northern and eastern districts.

Since the beginning of the war, we have provided significant humanitarian assistance to the people of Ukraine. We have provided more than 2,200 tonnes of humanitarian aid to 8 regions of the country, supporting more than 52,000 people. We have supplied firewood for approximately 1,900 people living in the Zakarpattia region. As part of our Shelter programme, we have equipped 14 shelters and 12 modular houses with furniture and home furnishings, repaired four municipal buildings and built one prefabricated house. In addition, we provided 615 families with warm winter clothing and shoes.

Our efforts don’t stop with just providing basic necessities. We have organized private and group sessions with psychologists for approximately 1,700 people and held 60 psychological events, trainings and workshops. We have also built more than 20 playgrounds in Zakarpattia and organized 11 children’s camps for more than 500 children. We have provided modifications to both children’s areas and bomb shelters, contributing to greater safety for more than 4,000 children during air raids. In total, we donated 700 school kits to children to help them continue their education in times of crisis.

We condemn Russia’s act of aggression and will do everything we can to help the people affected by it. Be with us in this.

After the tragic events on the Maidan in Kiev in February 2014, we were the first in Slovakia to announce a collection to help Ukraine. We first worked with the renowned movement of Ukrainian doctors and volunteers Narodnyj gospital, which set up field hospitals and provided medical aid. Already in March 2014, the collection funded medical supplies and materials for people injured during the events on Maidan. In cooperation with the Ukrainian organisation SOS Vostok, we also helped to evacuate people from the combat zones, as well as provide legal, medical and social support to the displaced.
