Humanitarian Aid
Humanitarian aid stood at the very birth of People in Need. A group of journalists led by Andrej Bán decided to intervene and help people who had to leave their homes because of the war conflict in Kosovo at the end of the 1990s.
We continue their legacy to this day and help those who need urgent help. Whether they are people who have been deprived of their homes or livelihood by a natural disaster, or those fleeing armed conflicts.
For more than 20 years of existence, we have helped with humanitarian crises in almost 20 countries of the world, including Slovakia and the neighboring Czech Republic. However, the aim of our assistance is not only to save human lives and alleviate suffering, but also to support the victims of disasters to get back on their feet later.
